Organic food is produced by methods that meet the standards of organic farming. Standards vary worldwide, but organic farming generally involves recycling resources, promoting ecological balance, and conserving biodiversity. Organic product organizations may limit certain pesticides and fertilizers used in their production. Organic foods are generally not usually processed using irradiation, industrial solvents, or synthetic food additives.
