Nyakabuye station is located in a town of the same name in the southwestern tip of Rwanda, near the border with Burundi and the Democratic Republic of congo. It stands right on the banks of the upper rubyiro river. A local attraction is an island of forest called Cyamudongo [shamudongo] at the top of the hill directly above the station, where a 30-headed group of eastern chimpanzees and countless other animal and plant species are successfully protected. A specific location in a pinched valley between the peaks of nyungwe [ňungue] mistforest is characterized by a very humid climate, thanks to which local coffees do not suffer from unexpected dry episodes and have the opportunity to ripen smoothly. They are so pleasantly juicy in taste. In combination with the higher acidity caused by volcanic subsoil of this area, they are then characterized by typical notes of sweet citrus. The high altitude complements the taste with floral tones, especially in Rwanda so typical pure taste of Assam black tea or oolong.

The beginning of this station dates back to the early 1990s. It was founded by the father of the current owners, three brothers, who came directly from the town of Nyakabuye. The story of the company began to be written on this station, which he gradually expanded to 18 stations throughout Rwanda, and his sons are now continuing to do so. By buying coffee from this station, you have the opportunity to support the success of a local family company built from below, which in our opinion is the best way to help in Africa.
